Elliot Joslin Award 2022 of the DDG for Antje Körner
Award for childhood obesity research
Professor Dr Antje Körner (CRC1052 C5/ C9) has been awarded the Elliot-Joslin Prize 2022 of the German Diabetes Society (DDG), which is endowed with 10,000 euros.
Prof. Körner is being honoured for her work on "Origin and mechanisms of childhood obesity - development of early metabolic comorbidities and adipose tissue function". In her scientific work at the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Körner pursues an approach that combines experimental, clinical, genetic and epidemiological studies. Her goal is to enable more precise and effective intervention options for children and adolescents with obesity and diabetes by better understanding the interplay of risk factors, predisposition, and clinical course.
